I've heard previously that Maxcatch Fly Lines from China are good. They seem to be close copies of Rio lines.
The Maxcatch Gold line seems to be a copy of the Rio Gold line, which is what I use a #5 for fishing small lakes.
You can get the lines on EBay, posted from China which can take a few weeks.
I've just bought a Maxcatch Avid off Amazon and after some test casts on the River I'm really impressed....casts well, supple and lies straight on the water. I can't vouch for durability, but for £14 or £18, what's to worry about?

Managed to squeeze in a few hours on Llyn Brenig this evening. I'm very happy with the line, it casts well and floats high in the water. Quite a few fish rising, caught 3 rainbows on hopper patterns. One of the rainbows took off like an express train, took me well into the backing.
Beats blanking on the Clwyd!?
