Just been getting some powerpro braid. I have never used this stuff before, so how do I attach the monofil leader to the main braid line.

With Powerpro, I use an Albright knot with 10-15 turns, then lock off the braid end with a 2-3 turn overhand knot for extra insurance.

If you've already got your Powerpro, there's a booklet in the packet showing suitable knots. They suggest 25-30 turns which is overkill IMO and can also cause the knot to strangle itself and fail. The reverse Albright they suggest is prone to slippage unless locked off at both ends which makes the knot very bulky. I only use a short leader so that the knot does not go through the tip ring. Constant reeling in and recasting the knot through the tip ring does weaken the knot.

Attach mine to a swivel then add a 3 ft mono leader,,i think the braid to mono knott aids line twist especially when spinning...

I agree that it might contribute to line twist in the leader, but there is no way the Powerpro will suffer line twist because of its low memory. If the leader shows signs of twist or wear, I just change it. I would rather do this periodically than spend time removing weed etc. that the upline swivel has picked up. A compronise may be to attach the spinner to the leader using a snap swivel.

Halcyon, for me it would be a 2 turn clinch knot for braid to swivel, then a normal clinch knot for the mono to swivel...scroll down the link below and you will find both knots, the 2 turn clinch is important for the braid as this knot stops the braid strangling itself and weakening the braid...

I've been using Power pro for a few years now, always used a double Uni knot for attaching mono to Braid.. I've never had any trouble with line twist ? or the knot..I think it's the best braid i ever used....
